Ever since I can remember, Motherhood called me. I was blessed with five children in all. In my early twenties I gave birth to my first child, and by forty I adopted my youngest. One child remains in my home, but only part-time now, and I'm embracing something else that has always called to me: Peace & Freedom. Since writing this blog in 2014, I've experienced an amicable divorce and my kids have grown by leaps & bounds. My life is unfolding in new ways. I strived many years for a deeper sense of personal peace within, and and continue to do so. I don't think I will ever be able to take a peaceful home-life for granted now. Along with Peace comes Joy, Love, and a sense of Connection. Life is nothing without all of these elements, swhirled together in that delicious bowl we call life.
Through all of life's challenges, the bits and pieces that have helped me most include: daily meditation, introspection, silent contemplation, deep listening, authentic sharing, the outdoors, and practicing the presence. I write about a lot of things, but these are core pieces that contribute significantly to the way I live my life. I write for therapeutic reasons, and also enjoy connecting with others through this medium. There's one of those magical words again: Connection. You can connect with me on Facebook, too! I'm a spontaneous writer, and will blog about whatever is on my mind in the moment, which often involves pets, kids, chickens, nature, humor, spiritual insights, jibberish, or all of the above. I have a separate blog devoted solely to chicken keeping here. It's a work in progress, but I hope to offer my book and videos soon. I also homeschool my kids, and am part of the "unschooling" scene, so I look forward to sharing my adventures with two creative children, ages 5 and 13.
